Peters Commits to Penn State

Lincoln Stars forward Keaton Peters has announced his commitment to play college hockey at Penn State, an NCAA Division I program in the Big Ten Conference.

Peters, 20 is 13th in Stars history with 42 goals and tied for the team lead with 22 goals this season. He also tied for the team lead with 44 points and 6 power-play goals. The Sussex, Wis. native appeared in all 62 games this season and 171 with the Stars over the last three seasons. Peters has also appeared in all 17 of the Stars' playoff games over the last three springs. He was named the USHL's Student Athlete of the Year for the 2021-22 season.

"I couldn't be more excited to play at a place like Penn State," Peters said. "I was able to come to this decision easily due to the outstanding education and second-to-none alumni network. I think that the style of play, coaching staff and conference fit my game the best."

Penn State just completed its 13th season as an NCAA Division-I hockey team after playing club hockey from 1971-2012. The Nittany Lions made 29 ACHA tournaments and won three ACHL championships as a club team. They also won nine ACHA conference tournament championships and eight ACHA regular-season championships. Penn State has gone on to to win one Big Ten regular-season championship and one Big Ten conference tournament championships while making three NCAA Tournament appearances.

The Nittany Lions are led by Guy Gadowsky, who has been at the helm since their switch from club hockey to an NCAA Division-I program in 2012. He has led Penn State to the NCAA Tournament in 2017, 2018 and 2023 and has recorded five 20-win seasons. He was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2019 after winning the Big Ten regular-season championship.

Peters joins Ethan Weber and Layne Loomer as members of the 2023-34 Stars committed to the Nittany Lions.
