Corpus Christi, Texas: December 13, 2004 - Corpus Christi Rayz defenseman, Dominic Periard is one day away from possibly fulfilling a life-long dream. Periard, who is one of the stars of the Canadian hit reality show, "Making the Cut," is a finalist on the show and Tuesday night has the opportunity to win a tryout with a National Hockey League team in the series finale. Only 18 players remain from thousands who tried out for the show and are fighting over the final six winning spots. The two-hour finale will air live throughout Canada on Tuesday night at 7:00pm CST on the Canadian television station CBC.

Periard, 24, competed all summer long for the opportunity to become a finalist on the 13-week show that is sweeping the country north of the United States. Out of all the applicants, only 68 were invited to the "Bell - Making the Cut" training camp. Through 12 episodes, the talent scouts have cut the roster to 18, heading into Tuesday night's culmination live from Mississauga, Ontario. The General Managers of all six Canadian National Hockey League teams will be at the show's finale to select one player that they will invite to their training camp next season.

"We're very excited for Dominic and certainly wish him the best of luck in the final show," said Rayz General Manager, Larry Linde. "He's had a great season in Corpus Christi and showcased his ability. He has earned his position among the final 18 and we're definitely pulling for him."

Periard has eight points and 59 penalty minutes in 21 games this season with the Rayz. Periard is currently in Canada preparing for the series finale. He and the Rayz will return to Corpus Christi and the American Bank Center on Friday, December 17th when the Oklahoma City Blazers make their first visit ever to Corpus Christi.
