SCORPIONS TICKETS AND EVENTS â

Sunday's game is Comcast Family 4-Pack Night. Families can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas all for $44. After the game, it's Skate with the Scorpions presented by Blades in Rio Rancho. Bring your own skates, otherwise some rental skates will be available.
Children 15 and under can get tickets for the Scorpions' games on Wednesday, Dec. 22 and Tuesday, Dec. 28 for $6.
Tickets for all Scorpions home games start at $11 and can be purchased at the Scorpions Team Store, 6300 San Mateo NE in the Far North Shopping Center, at the Tingley Coliseum box office beginning two hours prior to game time, or at any TicketMaster outlet.
SCORPIONS RECAP â
AMARILLO 3, SCORPIONS 2 (SO) â The Scorpions picked up a point to move into sole possession of first place in the Northwest Division as the Gorillas rallied for 3-2 shootout victory on Tuesday in Amarillo. Erik Adams and Shawn Legault scored for the Scorpions, while Miguel Beaudry made 35 saves in goal.
COLORADO 3, SCORPIONS 2 â Riley Nelson and Mike Lephart scored 17 seconds apart in the opening minute of the second period on Friday to push the Eagles to a 3-2 win over the Scorpions. Jordan Bianchin and Randy Murphy had staked the Scorpions to a 2-0 lead in the first period before Brad Williamson had sliced the lead in half just before the intermission. Miguel Beaudry stopped 24 shots for the Scorpions while Tyler Weiman stopped 25 shots for the Eagles.
COLORADO 3, SCORPIONS 1 â The Eagles scored three times in the second period on Saturday and held on from there to sweep the Scorpions with a 3-1 win. Kevin Marsh scored twice while Brad Williamson also scored for Colorado. Randy Murphy scored for the Scorpions, which brought hundreds of teddy bears raining down on the Tingley Coliseum ice. Miguel Beaudry made 31 saves for the Scorps.
SCORPIONS MATCH-UPS â
SAN ANGELO â The Saints boast the league's best home record at 9-1-0, meaning the Scorpions are in for a tough test when they visit San Angelo for back-to-back games this Friday and Saturday. San Angelo escaped Tingley Coliseum with a 3-2 shootout win on Nov. 12. Trevor Weisgerber leads the Saints with 20 points (10g-10a), followed by Bret Dececco (8g-9a-17pts) and Kevin Vandewaeter (8g-7a-15pts). Goalie Scott Reid (12-6-1, 2.99 GAA) leads the league with 12 victories. A key matchup will be the Scorpions' number-one power play (25.0%) against the Saints' penalty kill (75.9%), ranked 16th of 17 teams.
TULSA â The Scorpions opened the season with 4-3 win at Tulsa on Oct. 22, and Sunday's game rounds out the season series. Somewhat surprisingly, the Oilers are 6-3-1 on the road and just 3-8-0 at home. Olivier Maltais is fifth in the league with 31 points (14g-17a), despite not joining the Oilers until the game after the season opener. 2004 All-Star Jason Bermingham (9g-13a-22pts) and former Scorpion Todd Marcellus (8g-13a-21pts) are just behind. Goalie Bill Ruggiero is 9-6-0 with a 3.05 GAA. Tulsa is second-to-last in the league allowing 3.52 goals per game.

SAME OLD MURPHY â Randy Murphy has picked up right where he left off. A member of the Scorpions from 1999 to 2001, Murphy returned this season after a three-year stint with Elmira of the UHL and promptly has taken the team lead in points with 28. The Mississauga, Ontario native is tied for second with 11 goals, and tied for first with three game-winning goals. He is also tied for the team lead with a +5 plus/minus rating.
STINGERS â The Scorpions' streak of not allowing a power play goal at home stayed alive, barely, this weekend... The streak is now at 51 after Colorado failed to score on six chances this weekend, including a 75-second 5-on-3 during the third period on Saturday... The Scorpions' three-game winless streak is their longest of the season, and Saturday's game marked the first time this year that the Scorpions had lost back-to-back games in regulation... Miguel Beaudry is still tied for second in the CHL with ten wins... The Verner, Ontario native is second with 551 saves and fourth with a .924 save percentage... The Scorpions are 25-for-100 on the power play this season.
