Edinburg, Texas - Alexei Perez struck out seven, paving the way for the McAllen Thunder victory over the Rio Grande Valley White Wings 7-2 on Tuesday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.

Perez (3-4) allowed no earned runs on seven hits and two walks over eight and third innings en route to victory.

The game was scoreless during the bottom of the sixth when Gio Rosa drove in the go-ahead run to give the McAllen Thunder (26-45) the lead in the sixth inning.

Antoin Gray walked to start the sixth inning rally of seven runs. Then he went from first to third on a double by Miguel Alfonzo. Finally, Rosa came to the plate with the game scoreless in the sixth inning and singled, plating Gray.

Gray would racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Thunder as he singled in the first inning and doubled in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach for the Wings.

Clint Bowker (1-1) took the loss for the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings, lasting five and two-thirds inning, walked one, struck out seven, and allowed five runs.

The Thunder and White Wings will play the series finale of their eight game series on Wednesday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium with the first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
