Pensacola's Joshua Turnbull Named Easton Player of the Month

HUNTERSVILLE, NC. (January 7, 2014) - T he Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Joshua Turnbull of the Pensacola Ice Flyers is the Easton Player of the Month for December.

Turnbull recorded 15 points (4g, 11a) in 10 games, more than doubling his point total from November, as he led the Ice Flyers to a 6-3-1 record in a month that saw the team's top three scorers loaned to the ECHL.

The Hayward, WI native had five multi-point games in December, topped by a five-point outing (1g, 4a) in a 6-5 win over the Mississippi RiverKings on December 6. Turnbull also led the team with two game-winning goals in December, including the overtime marker in a 3-2 win over Louisiana.

A 5th round draft pick of the Los Angeles Kings (137th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Turnbull played four seasons for the University of Wisconsin, setting collegiate career highs in goals, points and games played his senior season. Turnbull split the 2012-13 season between the ECHL's Toledo Walleye, the Central Hockey Leauge's Missouri Mavericks, and the Elite Ice Hockey League's Fife Flyers.
