Pensacola Ice Pilots Training Camp to Start Friday

PENSACOLA, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots of the ECHL and a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, open their training camp on Friday.
Ice Pilot hopefuls will gather for an introductory team meeting on Friday followed by physicals and photographs on Saturday morning. Players will participate in fitness testing on Sunday.
However, due to activities at The Hangar, the Ice Pilots will not take to the Ice until late Monday for a full practice. The first opportunity for fans to look at the players will be on Tuesday when two sessions of practices will be held at 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. There will be similar sessions on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. All morning practices are open to the public and fans must enter through the Main Entrance at the Box Office at the Pensacola Civic Center.
Daily updates on the training camp will be available on line at www.icepilots.com so fans can get the latest information.
The first opportunity for the Season Ticket holders and the general public to meet the players will be on Saturday, Oct. 14 at an Ice Pilots Meet and Greet at Captain Fun's Sports Bar on 241 East Garden Street from 3 pm to 6 pm. There will be food, music, and an opportunity to get autographs of the entire team. The entire on-ice training camp schedule is listed below.
The Ice Pilots will be leaving on Monday, Oct. 16 to conclude training camp in Dayton, Ohio prior to the season opener on Friday, Oct. 20 in Cincinnati Ohio against the Cyclones at 6:30 p.m. Pensacola will meet the Johnstown Chiefs on Saturday, Oct. 21 at pm at the War Memorial Arena. On Sunday at 3:35 pm the Ice Pilots take on the Reading Royals.
The Pensacola Ice Pilots Home Opener is set for Friday, Oct 27 at 7:05 pm when they host the Texas Wildcatters at 7:05 p.m. at The Hangar. The Ice Pilots will then host the Columbia Inferno on Sunday at 6:05 pm.
