
Ellsworth, Main, McPhee Agree To Terms

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, an ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers, has announced the club has agreed to terms with goaltender Cam Ellsworth, defenseman Iain McPhee and left wing Eric Main. Per club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.
CAM ELLSWORTH AGREES TO TERMS
Ellsworth, 26, joins the Thunder training camp roster after splitting his 2005-06 professional season in the ECHL between the Greenville Grrrowl and Augusta Lynx, where he had a 22-10-2 record, 2.85 goals against average and .902 save percentage in 35 games. A native of Leamington, Ontario, Ellsworth's four shutouts in 2005-06 ranked tied for third in the ECHL and also tied for the league-lead with five overtime wins.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound goaltender posted shutouts in two of his first three starts with Greenville, which was part of a four-game stretch where he went 3-1-0 with a .957 save percentage and 0.99 goals against average that helped earn Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week honors for the week of January 16-22. Ellsworth was part of a Greenville team that advanced to an American Conference division semifinal playoff berth with a 45-24-3 regular season record (93 points).
Ellsworth spent four years (2001-05) of his college hockey career at Michigan Tech University (NCAA), where he posted a .892 save percentage and 3.88 goals against average in 117 career games, while earning Third Team All-WCHA and Academic All-WCHA honors. Ellsworth registered a career-high 1,109 saves and 2,025 minutes played in 35 games for the Huskies as a 2002-03 sophomore.
IAIN McPHEE AGREES TO TERMS
McPhee, who just turned 21 on October 1, compiled a four-year (2002-06) junior hockey career with the Ontario Hockey League's Windsor Spitfires, who have sent four alumni (Terry Sawchuk, Glenn Hall, Marcel Pronovost, and Al Arbour) to the Hockey Hall of Fame. The 6-foot-2, 209-pound native of Pickering, Ontario scored 52 points (18g-34a) in 217 career games with 282 penalty minutes, while posting a career-high 20 points (6g-14a) in just 37 games in 2005-06.
ERIC MAIN AGREES TO TERMS
Main, 23, spent four years (2002-06) of his college hockey career at Colgate University (NCAA), scoring 15 points (5g-10a) with 177 penalty minutes in 131 career games. The Atitokan, Ontario native helped guide the Raiders to an NCAA Tournament berth as a 2004-05 junior and appeared in a career-high 38 games as a 2005-06 senior, scoring four goals and two assists to help guide Colgate to the program's third-consecutive 20-win season.
The Thunder opens 2006-07 training camp on Friday, October 6 at Stockton Arena and faces the Fresno Falcons in a 4:00 p.m. PT pre-season game on Sunday, October 15 at Stockton Arena. The Thunder begins the 2006-07 ECHL season Friday, October 20 on the road against the Bakersfield Condors at 7:00 p.m. PT, and faces the Long Beach Ice Dogs on Saturday, October 28 at 7:30 p.m. PT in the home opener at Stockton Arena.
The Thunder drew 228,364 fans to Stockton Arena in its inaugural season, the ECHL's best attendance mark for 2005-06.
