Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release
The Pensacola Ice Flyers lost in a heartbreaking match against the Huntsville Havoc in The Hangar Friday night. The Ice Flyers battled to a shootout, but were just short of the win.
Both teams began slow leaving the first period scoreless, but the scoring soon picked up in the second period with Huntsville's Kyle Laughlin scoring first. Pensacola's newest addition, Chris Bratina, answered back for the Ice Flyers followed shortly after by Chris Wilson. Huntsville would tie it up before the end of the second. There would be two more scores before the final buzzer rang sending the game into overtime.
"It was definitely a tough loss for us. We worked hard and fought throughout the match to pull out the win ... unfortunately sometimes it just doesn't happen for you," Head coach Todd Gordon commented after the game.
The Ice Flyers will return to The Hangar tomorrow to face the Louisiana IceGators for a Mardi Gras celebration hosted by the Ice Flyers' Booster Club. For additional information on games or promotions call (850) 466-3111 or visit www.pensacolaiceflyers.com.
