Penguins to Take on Philadelphia in East Division Finals

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will face the Philadelphia Phantoms in the East Division Finals of the Calder Cup Playoffs, it was determined on Tuesday night. Philadelphia defeated the Albany River Rats, 2-0, in Game Seven of their East Division Semifinals series to advance.

The Penguins advanced to the East Division Finals for the fifth consecutive season after defeating the Hershey Bears, four games to one, in the East Division Semifinals.

This will be the fourth playoff meeting between Philadelphia and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The Penguins defeated the Phantoms in the 2001 Western Conference Semifinals, 4-2, and in the 2004 East Division Finals, 4-2. Philadelphia downed Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the 2005 East Division Finals, 4-1.
