
Penguins reduce training camp roster to 30

WILKES-BARRE, PA. â The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins today reduced their training camp roster to 30 players. The Penguins released seven players and assigned three to their East Coast Hockey League affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers. The announcement was made by Penguins' Head Coach Michel Therrien.
The Penguins have released forwards Michel Beausoleil, Brendon Hodge, Darcy Johnson and Glenn Zuck, defensemen James Laux, Curtiss Patrick and Randy Perry, while center Ed McGrane, defenseman Cliff Loya and goaltender Joe Exter were assigned to the Nailers.
The Penguins' roster now stands at 30 and consists of 18 forwards, nine defensemen and three goaltenders.
The Penguins will practice tomorrow morning at 10:30 a.m. at the Ice Box Skating Complex in Jenkins Township. The practice is open to the public.
The Penguins continue their preseason schedule on Thursday (Oct. 7) as they host the Syracuse Crunch. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza.
