Pena transferred to Tennessee from High-A Daytona; Antigua placed on Disabled List

KODAK - The Chicago Cubs announced a series of transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Tennessee Smokies roster prior to tonight's series-opening contest against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos at Smokies Stadium.

Right-handed starter Felix Pena has been transferred to Tennessee from High-A Daytona. Prior to the promotion, the 24-year-old posted a 4-6 record and 3.19 ERA (34 ER in 96.0 IP) in 19 starts for the D-Cubs. The native of the Dominican Republic is expected to make his Double-A debut tonight with Tennessee.

In addition, left-handed pitcher Jeffry Antigua has been placed on the Disabled List, retroactive to July 30. In nine appearances, including four starts with the Smokies this season, the southpaw has compiled an 0-2 record and 3.58 ERA (13 ER in 32.2 IP).

Tennessee's active roster stands at 25 and a revised roster is attached.

The Smokies are slated to begin their five-game set this evening against Pensacola, the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. The Blue Wahoos are expected to counter Pena this evening with RHP Ben Lively (0-5, 3.68), with first pitch scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
