Barons Make a Flurry of Roster Moves

The Birmingham Barons and Chicago White Sox announced a flurry of roster moves today as LHP Scott Snodgress was promoted to Class AAA Charlotte, RHP Brandon Hardin was transferred to Class A Winston-Salem and RHP Nick McCully was released. In addition, RHP Tony Bucciferro and LHP Jefferson Olacio were promoted from Class A Winston-Salem and LHP Nelvin Fuentes was transferred to Birmingham from Class AAA Charlotte. Roster at 25.

Snodgress, 24, will be making his first appearance at the Triple-A level. In 21 starts this season with the Barons, Snodgress went 6-7 with a 3.89 ERA (53 ER/122.2 IP) with 79 strikeouts. He led the team in wins and innings pitched.

Bucciferro, 24, will be making his Double-A debut after going 7-10 with a 3.90 ERA (56 ER/129.1 IP) in 21 starts with the Dash. He led the Dash in wins and innings pitched and ranked second in strikeouts (94). He was selected by the White Sox in the 14th round of the June 2012 First-Year Player Draft out of Michigan State University where he's the school's all-time leader in games started and innings pitched.

Olacio, 20, will also be making his first appearance at the Double-A level after going 0-5 with a 4.69 ERA (29 ER/55.2 IP) in 29 appearances including four starts with the Dash. He was signed by the White Sox as a free agent on October 30, 2010 out of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.

Fuentes, 25, returns to the Barons after an extended stint with Triple-A Charlotte where he went 1-2 with a 5.61 ERA (21 ER/33.2 IP) in 22 relief appearances. He began in the season in Birmingham going 0-0 with a 1.06 ERA (2 ER/17.0 IP) in 11 appearances before being promoted on May 13th.

Uniform numbers for Bucciferro and Olacio will be assigned upon the team's arrival in Chattanooga today. See attached for an updated roster.
