The Pawtucket Red Sox have won 8 straight after taking a pair from Durham on Monday night at McCoy, 2-0 and 7-1. First place Pawtucket (14-5) again got great pitching and timely hitting. In the first game, Justin Germano and Andrew Miller combined for the shutout. Germano (2-1) allowed three hits in six innings. Miller picked up the save. Tony Thomas and Mike Rivera each had an RBI.
Aaron Cook (3-0) dominated Durham tossing a complete game. Will Middlebrooks had a three run homer and Che-Hsuan Lin added a two run double. Middlebrooks has homered in 5 of his last 6 games.
The Scranton Wilkes Barre Yankees are in town on Tuesday night for a 6:15 p.m. game.
