With a 3-1 lead going into the eighth inning, the PawSox unloaded on Rochester, scoring 7 runs and running away with a 10-1 win. Pawtucket sent 11 men to the plate in the inning. The 7 runs scored on 5 hits and a pair of walks. The PawSox scored their first run in the top of the first as leadoff hitter Nate Spears walked and scored on a single by Lars Anderson. Che Hsuan Lin hammered his first home run of the season in the fourth to make it 2-0 and an RBI single by Ryan Lavarnway in the seventh made it 3-1. Spears had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Jose Iglesias had 3 hits and a stolen base. Lavarnway, Anderson and Lin each had 2 hits. 10 runs and 13 hits were both season highs for the PawSox.

Brandon Duckworth (1-0) was the winner. The righty worked 5 innings, allowing a run on 4 hits. He fanned 6 Red Wings hitters. Lefty Andrew Miller, on a rehab assignment from Boston (hamstring) looked strong, working an inning and two thirds. He walked two and struck out as many. His fast ball topped out at 97 miles an hour and he looked healthy fielding a grounder on the right side of the infield. Miller is scheduled to pitch again on Sunday in Buffalo. Will Inman polished off Rochester, tossing two and a third scoreless innings. The PawSox improve to 4-4.

The series wraps up on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. in Rochester. Aaron Cook (1-0) faces Cole DeVries (0-0).
