Little Falls, NJ - With his team in need of a win at home Isaac Pavlik delivered, as any ace should.

The lefty went six dominant innings against Trois Rivieres on Sunday, holding the Aigles to four hits, while striking out eight to earn his second win of the 2013 season, as New Jersey prevailed 10-4.

As a result of his superlative efforts, Pavlik won Pitcher of the Week honors in the Can-Am League.

Pavlik is no stranger to the award. He achieved the milestone twice last year during his record breaking 2012 season as he passed Joel Bennett for first all time on the Jackals' win and strikeouts list.

The award is the ninth time overall Pavlik has been named Pitcher of the Week.

Earlier in the week, Pavlik three six strong innings against the Rockland Boulders, giving up three earned runs in six innings; as he got a no decision in the Jackals 6-5 victory.

So far this season, the Jackals are 4-0 in games that Pavlik starts. He opened up the 2013 season with strong performances in Sioux City and St. Paul, including a masterful seven-inning performance against the Explorers in a 9-6 victory.

This year Pavlik is 2-0 with a 2.84 ERA with 19 strikeouts and four walks in 19.1 innings pitched.

Pavlik is one of the longest tenured players in Jackals history, already in his ninth season with the ball club. The Paramus NJ native is the Jackals all time leader in wins (69) and strikeouts (738).

Pavlik will make his next scheduled start for the Jackals on Saturday night, June 8, in Trois Rivieres.
