New Jersey 10, Trois-Rivieres 4

On a big offensive day for the Jackals, CF Chris Curran emerged as the biggest bat in a 10-6 New Jersey win over Trois-Rivieres. Curran finished the game at 3-for-5 with two RBI and a triple. Jackals' C Danny Rams and 2B Jose Cuevas also had two RBI in the win. On the mound, LHP Isaac Pavlik pitched brilliantly to pick up his second win. Pavlik struck out eight and held the Aigles scoreless over six innings. The southpaw gave up just four hits before turning the game over to the bullpen.

Rockland 6, Newark 5

Rockland starter Bobby Blevins nearly went the distance in a 6-5 win over Newark. The right-hander surrendered five runs and scattered 10 hits over 8.2 innings to pick up the win. Blevins might have tossed his first complete game of the year if not for a ninth-inning Bears' rally. Newark loaded the bases, forcing RHP Alex Kreis to come out of the bullpen. Kreis helped Rockland narrowly escape the late surge, allowing a couple of run-scoring hits, but ultimately inducing a fly out to seal the Boulders' win and earn the save.

Despite Blevins' quality performance early, his work did not pay off until the middle of the ball game. Newark and Rockland were knotted at 2-2 going into the sixth inning, but the Boulders took advantage of some defensive miscues to plate four runs and take the lead. Those four runs provided enough of a cushion for Blevins and Kreis to hold off the Bears.

Quebec 6, St. Paul 3

Capitales RHP Jeff Duda held the dangerous St. Paul offense at bay, leading Quebec to a 6-3 victory. The Saints entered the game with the third best offense in the American Association, but Duda kept them to one run and seven hits over seven innings of work. The Capitales' starter struck out four and walked one to improve to 2-0 on the Can-Am League season. Quebec has lost just once in Duda's four starts.

On the offensive side, 1B Josue Peley had the most consistent day at the plate. Peley went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Meanwhile, Quebec's corner outfielders provided some punch. LF Royce Consigli hit his fifth home run of the season and RF Asif Shah led the club in production with two RBI on the day. Behind that offensive help and Duda's performance, the Capitales set up RHP Chris Cox who notched his league-leading fifth save with a one-two-three ninth.
