Pavelski to Play for New Hampshire

Waterloo, Iowa-Following two seasons as a member of the Waterloo Black Hawks, forward Scott Pavelski has committed to playing for the University of New Hampshire starting in the fall of 2009.

"What Scott did for this club in his two seasons didn't always show up in the stats," said Black Hawks Head Coach P.K. O'Handley. "He's a team guy and a leader, the kind of player you hope has an opportunity like this to play for a great program."

Pavelski's USHL career included 111 regular season games, 16 goals, and 23 assists. In 2008-2009, his plus-minus rating was +19, fifth-best among the Black Hawks. A regular on penalty-killing assignments, Pavelski's two shorthanded goals this season marked half of the team total. He was selected by his teammates as co-winner of the Black Hawks' Unsung Hero Award, along with defenseman Patrick Wey.

As a Wildcat, Pavelski will rejoin 2007-2008 Black Hawk teammates Blake Kessel and Matt DiGirolamo. Former Hawks Thomas Fortney and Mike Borisenok also skated for New Hampshire last season.
