Bangor Lumberjacks News Release

Bangor, ME- The Bangor Lumberjacks, a proud member of the Northeast League, announced today that they have activated OF Barry Paulk from the Inactive List. To make room for Paulk on the roster, the Lumberjacks released C Mikaela Dworken.

The Miami native joined the Lumberjacks earlier this season after his release from the Capital City (SC) Bombers, and hit .311 with 5 RBI and 2 stolen bases in 13 games in the leadoff spot, before going down with an injury legging out a double in a game against the North Shore Spirit on July 9.

Barry had been home in Miami rehabbing the injury in preparation for his return to the Jacks. He has appeared in two games so far for the Jacks since returning this weekend. Against the Black Bears, he went one for five with a run scored.

The Lumberjacks also activated RHP Brandon Bowe from the disabled list. He hurled 2.1 scoreless innings, striking out three in his return. The Jacks placed LHP Danny Miller on the disabled list retroactive to August 13.

Dworken hit .143 with a homer and four RBI in 16 games since coming over in a trade with the New Jersey Jackals.

The Lumberjacks are back at Mahaney Diamond on Monday, August 18 to begin a three game series with division rival Quebec. First pitch Monday is at 7:15; gates open at 6. Fans will have the opportunity to qualify for a final drawing to win tickets to see Jimmy Buffett at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA at the end of August, courtesy of Pine State Trading Company. The final drawing will be hold Tuesday night at Buffett at the Ballpark night.
