SPRINGDALE, AR - The Kansas City Royals announced prior to the Naturals' Wednesday night game in Tulsa that right-hander Eduardo Paulino has been activated from the seven-day disabled list.

Paulino, the 25-year old from Nagua, Dominican Republic, has made 24 appearances from the Naturals' pen this season, ranking him second on the club. He currently has a 2-2 record and a 5.61 ERA, although he has been solid of late, keeping the opposition scoreless in three of his past four outings. Signed as a non-drafted free agent in February of 2006, Paulino is in his second season in Double-A and has a 37-20 record and a 3.77 ERA in 126 appearances, including 83 starts. He had been sidelined since July 17thwith elbow soreness.

Meanwhile, three Naturals - left-handers Buddy Baumann (shoulder) and Edgar Osuna (shoulder) along with outfielder Tim Smith (back) have left the team to begin rehab assignments with the Surprise Royals, Kansas City's complex team in the Arizona League. Baumann has already made one start, pitching 1 2/3 innings on Tuesday against the Texas Rangers' rookie-ball affiliate.

After the roster move, the Naturals' roster remains at the Texas League limit of 24 active players.
