The Week in Review
March 12th/08- Regina Pats-5 @ Moose Jaw Warriors-4
The Pats entered the Moose Jaw Civic Centre Wednesday night looking to win their first East Division pennant in 10 years ... The game opened with the Warriors drawing first blood, with a shorthanded marker 5 minutes in but after that it would be the Pats who would respond as Todd Kennedy and Logan Pyett scored singles and Scott Doucet added a pair to give the Pats a 4-1 lead after 20 minutes ... In the 2nd,the Warriors would out score the Pats 2-1, but the big goal would come from Matt Strueby as he would score the eventual game winner with 8 minutes remaining in the 2nd .... In the 3rd the Warriors could only get one puck past Linden Rowat as the Pats would clinch their first division pennant since 1997-98 season ... The Pats went 2 for 7 with the man advantage, while the Warriors went 1 for 8 ...
March 14th/08- Regina Pats-3 Vs. Brandon Wheat Kings-2 SO
The Pats and Wheat Kings opened a home and home series Friday night in Regina, as the Pats looked to catch the Eastern Conference leader Calgary Hitmen ... The Pats entered the game three points behind the Hitmen and needed a win against their rivals from the East ... The Wheat Kings opened the scoring just a minute into the game with Scott Glennie scoring his 25th of the season ... The Pats would respond as J.D Watt swatted in a rebound to knot things up after one ... In the 2nd,the Wheat Kings would score the only goal as Glennie would notch his 2nd of the game to lead after two periods of play ... In the 3rd the Pats would send the game to an extra frame as Matt Strueby scored a powerplay marker to tie things up at two ... Overtime would solve nothing so the two teams would head for a shootout ... In the shootout Victor Bartley and Scott Doucet both scored goals as the Pats would win their 44th game of the season ...
March 15th/08- Regina Pats-2 @ Brandon Wheat Kings-3
The Pats entered Saturday night's contest in Brandon with an outside shot of finishing 1st in the Eastern Conference, so the Pats would not be resting any of their big guns for the season finale ... The Pats would open the scoring 9 minutes in as Rudolf Cervny scored his 10th goal of the season... The Wheat Kings would tie it up before the period was out, to knot things at one after one .. In the 2nd Brandon would take the lead on Daniel Bartek's 22nd goal of the season and take that lead to the dressing room after two ... In the 3rd all of the scoring would happen in the last minute, as Kirt Hill scored his 13th and looked like he had sent the game to overtime ... After Jordan Eberle was stopped on a breakaway with under 30 seconds left, Brandon head manned the puck and scored the winning goal with just 23 seconds left .... The Pats were 0 for 5 with the man advantage, while the Wheat Kings were 0 for 6 ...
First Round Playoff Dates
The Pats have earned their way into the WHL playoffs for the 3rd straight season with a 44-22-4-2 record on the season. They locked up 1st place in the East Division and 2nd place in the Eastern Conference last Wednesday, and will square off with the 7th place Swift Current Broncos in the opening round of the playoffs.

Home Ice Key Heading Into Playoffs
The Pats capped off their home regular season schedule with an exciting 3-2 shootout victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday night. With the win, the Pats finished the 2007-2008 regular season with a 26-8-1-1 record at home. Even more impressive, the Pats were 13-5-1-0 at the Brandt Centre against East Division opponents this season, including a 2-0-1-0 mark against their 1st round playoff opponent, the Swift Current Broncos.

Pats' Add Two Pat Canadians To Their Roster
The Pats have added two members of the Regina Pat Canadians to their roster following their departure from the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Playoffs ... The Pats have added 15 year old goaltender Derek Tendler and 17 year old forward Cody Hanson for the 2008 WHL Playoffs ... Tendler, who had a spectacular year in his first full season a member of the Pats Canadians picked up the MVP and Top Goaltender Awards of the SMAAAHL ... Hanson, returns to the Pats after playing the first half of the season with team where he suited up in 16 games ... Hanson was acquired in early October from the Seattle Thunderbirds ...
Pats' Heating Up At The Right Time
The Pats are hitting their stride at the right moment, as they gear up for the WHL's second season... The Pats have picked up 17 of a possible 22 points in their last 11 games... That record includes a current 7 game winning streak at the Brandt Centre .... The Pats have not been defeated at home since February 5th when the Medicine Hat Tigers were in town ...
Pats Iron Man
Michael MacAngus was the only player to have played in all 72 games for the Pats this season ... The 19 year old winger out of Edmonton, AB has had a productive year along side Jordan Eberle and Tim Kraus ... The Pats top line has combined for over 70 goals this season, with MacAngus matching his career high in points with 51 ....
Alumni Spotlight
- Former Regina Pat Nyjer Morgan is currently in Pittsburgh, looking for a spot playing professional baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates ... Morgan suited up for the Pats during the 1999-2000 season where he played in 7 games and scored 2 goals ... Morgan finished last season with the Pirates after getting called up from their AAA affiliate ...
Prospects Spotlight...
- Jordan Weal (5'8, 148 Ibs) of the Vancouver NW Giants, was the Pats 4th round Bantam selection (79th overall) in 2007, was recently knocked out of the BC Major Midget League Playoffs ... Weal lead the league in scoring after the regular season, with 39 goals and 61 assists, for 100 points ... The 15 year old sniper will get a long look to be added to the Pats lineup for the 2008 WHL Playoffs ...
