The Pats were able to get a full week of practice on the fresh ice at the Brandt Centre, all in preparation for their game this past Friday in Brandon against the Wheat Kings. For the second game in a row, the blue and white lost in a shoot-out, this time 4-3 to the Wheat Kings. The Pats did hole a 2-1 lead after the first period of play on goals from Brett Leffler and Matt Delahey. The Wheatties turned things around after 40 minutes, with a 3-2 lead. Brandon Davidson tied the game in the 3rd, but overtime solved nothing with Brandon rookie Michael Ferland scoring the shoo-out winner. Darren Bestland, Stephane Robidoux and Jess Hall did the scoring for Brandon.

Off to NHL Training Camps:

This past weekend, a quartet of Pat players headed off to NHL training camps:

(D) Colten Teubert - LA - El Segundo, Cal

(C) Jordan Eberle - EDM - Edmonton, Ab.

(RW) Garrett Mitchell - WSH - Arlington, VA

(D) Matt Delahey - NJ - Newark, N.J.

Four ‘Tenders in Camp:

The Pats have some tough decisions ahead of them, none bigger than between the piped. There are four goaltenders battling it out in 20 year old veteran Linden Rowat, 18 year old returnee Damien Ketlo, and a pair of 17 year old rookies in Derek Tendler and Dawson Guhle. Ketlo and Tendler played in Brandon this past Friday with Rowat and Guhle potentially getting the nod at home Wednesday night against Brandon.

Poletin in the "Pole" Position:

Rookie Czech forward Michal Poletin has had a great start to the exhibition season, leading the Pats in scoring with 3 goals and 2 assists in four games.

The blue and white will have a busy week of practice in preparation for their final three games of the pre-season. The Pats will play their first home exhibition game on Wednesday night, hosting the Brandon Wheat Kings with a 7pm puck drop at the Brandt Centre.
