Regina, Saskatchewan - The Regina Pats are back in action tonight as they host the Kootenay Ice! It's Wiener Wednesday at the Brandt Centre with 2 for 1 hot dogs all night long. This is the second time that the Pats and the Ice have faced each other with the first meeting coming in the second week of the season in a 5-2 Ice win at the Cranbrook Rec Plex.

The Ice are tied with the Saskatoon Blades for third in the Eastern Conference, just one point ahead of both the Pats and the Medicine Hat Tigers. They are the top defensive team in the WHL as they have given up just 107 goals this season for a goals against average of 2.49 per game.

Who to look for:

G - Nathan Lieuwen

The 6th round pick of the Buffalo Sabres in the 2011 NHL Draft is second in the WHL in goals against average (2.12) and save percentage (.927) while his 19 wins if s good for 9th in the WHL.

C - Max Reinhart

The 3rd round pick of the Calgary Flames is tops on the Ice in scoring with 50 points and was key to their 5-2 win over the Pats in September with two goals and two assists.

Pats Show Off Their Skills:

The 2nd annual Prairie Mobile Pats Skills Competition is set for this Sunday, and if last year's debut event was any indication, this year's will be a must see event. The five event challenge (fastest skater, hardest shot, accuracy, 3-way passing breakout and the shootout) is set to begin at 2pm on Sunday, January 22nd at the Co-operators Centre and admission is FREE! All of the Regina Pats will take part as well as a selected team from Hockey Regina as well as members of the media.
