Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats Hockey Club have signed Head Coach Brad Herauf and Assistant Coach Ken Schneider to multi-year extensions. In addition, the club has parted ways with Assistant Coach Evan McFeeters and Goaltending Coach Daniel Wapple.

"First off, I'd like to thank Evan and Daniel for their time with the Pats," said Regina Pats VP, Hockey Operations and GM Alan Millar. "Both Evan and Daniel are bright, young guys, and we wish them the best in their future endeavours."

"I am pleased to announce that Brad and Ken have signed contract extensions with the hockey club," continued Millar. "As we look for our team to take that next step, beginning this fall, the leadership and continuity Brad and Ken bring to our group is very important. I look forward to working with Brad and Ken as we continue to build the Pats into a championship, calibre team."

Herauf, 41, who hails from Regina, Sask. returns for his second season as the Head Coach of the Pats after serving as an Assistant Coach for eight seasons. Named the 43rd Head Coach in franchise history on July 13, 2023, Herauf has a lifetime WHL coaching record of 33-55-7-3 in 98 games as the acting Head Coach dating back to 2022.

Prior to joining the Pats, Herauf was the Head Coach of the Regina Pat Canadians from 2012-2015. He also served as an Assistant Coach for Canada White at Hockey Canada's U17 tournament in Ottawa, Ont. in 2021. Prior to coaching, Herauf played four seasons in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League with the Estevan Bruins and Battlefords North Stars before embarking on an eight-year professional hockey career split between the CHL, ECHL and AHL.

Schneider, 62, begins his fourth season with the Pats after joining the team prior to the 2021-22 season. The former Brandon Wheat Kings U18 AAA Head Coach from Colfax, Sask. had been a scout for the Pats for three years. As a player, he spent three seasons with the Weyburn Red Wings of the SJHL, before suiting up for two seasons with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League, where he was their captain in 1981-1982 before returning to the Red Wings to finish his career.

The search for a new Assistant Coach and Goalie Coach will begin immediately.
