First Period

The Pats opened the first period with some jump, but it would be the Wheat Kings who would get on the board first. A Jason Swyripa shot bounced off the glass ad to the side of the Pats goal. Defenceman Eric Roy jumped into the play and managed to poke the puck behind Matt Hewitt, setting up the Wheat Kings with a 1-0 lead. The Pats penalty kill stood firm, killing off back-to-back penalties to maintain the one goal deficit. The Blue and White had a powerplay opportunity of their own, but Curtis Honey came up with some good saves to help the Wheaties to a 1-0 lead at the break. Brandon led the shot count, 11-8 after one period of play.

Second Period

The second period saw the scoring pick up and it would start from an increasingly likely source. Braden Christoffer stole the puck at the Brandon blue-line, fended off a back-checking Rene Hunter and snapped the puck behind Honey into the net off the post to bring the game even. The Pats fell into penalty trouble and for the second game in a row, a five-on-three powerplay would put them behind. Roy scored his second of the game on the two man advantage and Ryan Pulock followed up on the remaining powerplay to set the Wheat Kings to a 3-1 lead. That set the stage for the Pats leading scorer to go to work. Lane Scheidl started things off by sniping the top corner from the faceoff circle to cut the lead to one. He then followed it up by wheeling around in the offensive zone, then freeing himself up into the slot and wristing the puck into the goal the goal with only 20 seconds left to tie the game 3-3. The Pats found themselves outshot 14-7 in the period.

Third Period

The final frame belonged to the visitors as the Pats picked up their play in their final visit to Westman Place. Dyson Steenson gave the Pats their first lead of the game, stealing the puck from Eric Roy then ripping a shot on goal that trickled by Curtis Honey. Braden Christoffer added another marker when he snapped a wrist shot that found its way through Honey as well. Morgan Klimchuk added a third goal to the lead when he accepted a pass from Lane Scheidl and beat Honey along the ice to end the goaltender's night. The Pats wrapped the game with a 7-3 win courtesy of Adam Brooks tacking on a final marker late.
