Game #56
Friday, February 9th
Puck Drop: 7:30 p.m.
Regina Pats (19-30-3-3) Brandon Wheat Kings (20-32-2-2)
Head-to-Head
The Pats and Wheat Kings clash tonight for the seventh time this season. So far, the Pats hold a 2-4-0-0 record against Brandon and have yet to win at Westman Place this campaign. The Pats previous meeting with the Wheat Kings resulted in a 5-2 win for Brandon in which Ryan Pulock picked up five assists. Pulock leads the Wheat Kings with ten points, all assists, against Regina in five games. The Pats are led in the season series by Lane Scheidl who has seven points (3G, 4A) in six games. Coming into this evening's matchup, the Pats have lost three straight games including Thursday's contest against the Oil Kings. The Wheat Kings had trouble with the Oil Kings as well, falling 6-2 to Edmonton in last night's action. Tonight's game will be broadcast on 620 CKRM starting with the Press Box Sports Bar Pre-Game Show at 6:35 p.m.
Lead Up: Pats Dropped 7-0 by the Oil Kings
The Oil Kings tallied their first marker 55 seconds into the first period and didn't look back, scoring once more in the frame, once in the second and four in the third period. Michael St. Croix was named the first star, scoring a goal and adding two assists. Despite some great opportunities, the Pats couldn't find a way to beat Tristan Jarry on the evening as he made 24 saves for the shutout. For game highlights, click here.
Young Blue Line
With injuries to Luke Fenske and Colton Jobke, the Pats are missing 404 games worth of experience. Kyle Burroughs was the Pats most experienced defender Thursday night with 108 games to his name. The combined WHL experience of the Pats blue-line against the Edmonton Oil Kings was 356 games and an average age of 17.7 years.
Powerplay Struggling
Since tallying four times on seven chances with the man advantage Dec. 30th against Saskatoon, the Pats powerplay has gone 5/53 (9.43%) over the last twelve games.

The Pats announced Friday they will be offering several Fan Appreciation deals for the remainder of the 2012-13 season including 2-for-1 walk-up tickets, a 25% discount at the Neutral Zone Store and several concession deals including Happy Hour at Pats home games.
