Pats Bantam Draft Preview

Regina, Saskatchewan - The future stars of the Western Hockey League will be front and centre this Thursday with the annual Bantam Draft. This year the focus will be on players born in 1995 that hail from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the Western United States.

The Regina Pats are set to pick in the 5th overall spot, and then do not have a pick until the 3rd round, when they will have two selections. Here is a rundown of the Pats draft positions in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft:

1st Round - 5th overall

3rd Round - 47th overall (received in Carter Ashton, Craig Orfino deal),

3rd Round - 49th overall

5th Round - 91st overall (received in Linden Rowat deal)

6th Round - 115th overall

7th Round - 137th overall

8th Round - 159th overall

9th Round - 181st overall

10th Round - 203rd overall

The Pats are without their 2nd round pick (sent to Lethbridge in Carter Ashton/Craig Orfino deal in December of 2009), 4th round pick (sent to Swift Current in Jessie Dudas deal in January of 2009) and their 5th round pick (sent to Red Deer in Scarborough/Perrault deal in Sept. 2008).
