Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, Manitoba - The MasterCard Memorial Cup Host Organizing Committee, in association with the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings are pleased to announce that in order to meet the local demand for tickets to next month's National Championship, a limited number of "Standing Room Only" packages have been made available to the general public.
The 9-game package, which will cost $399 plus applicable taxes, will give Manitoba hockey fans the opportunity to purchase "assigned" standing room only locations on the East Main Concourse of Westman Place.
With only a handful of actual seats still available and with the Canadian Hockey League holding over one thousand for sponsors, the three major junior leagues, the National Hockey League and CHL teams, Local Host Committee Chairman Jeff Cristall is happy to provide local fans with another chance to catch the MasterCard Memorial Cup.
"We're happy to give Manitoba fans this opportunity," says Cristall. "This marks the first time that the Memorial Cup Championship has been hosted in this province and we couldn't be happier that tickets have gone so well."
For the first time in history, the Wheat Kings have earned the right to play host to the MasterCard Memorial Cup. This will mark the first time that Manitoba has played host to the 4-team National Championship and it comes during the province's 140th Anniversary Celebrations.
In related news, fans that have already ordered their Memorial Cup Ticket packages are reminded that they can pick up their 9-game packages this Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Keystone Centre's Pioneer Lounge.
