
Pats and Blades Battle on Final Weekend

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats battle the Saskatoon Blades in their final road game of the regular season at 7:00 p.m. inside the SaskTel Centre on Friday.
The Pats are coming in following a successful week where they pulled off three wins in four games, defeating Brandon, Moose Jaw and Saskatoon - clinching a playoff spot for the first time since 2018.
The Pats have clinched as low as sixth in the Eastern Conference standings but have a chance to finish as high as fifth if the the following things fall into place. If the Pats win the next two games and the Lethbridge Hurricanes lose the next two contests, the Pats will face off against the Moose Jaw Warriors in round one as the fifth seed. If that does not happen, the Pats will play the Blades.
The Pats are coming off a 4-2 win over the Saskatoon Blades on Sunday afternoon, as the club finished their three-in-three weekend with four of a possible six points. The Pats have now won back-to-back games coming into today's action, with both on the road.
Alexander Suzdalev (1G-1A), Connor Bedard (1G-1A), Tanner Howe and Brayden Barnett (GWG) scored for the Pats while Kelton Pyne made a career best 42 saves in the win. The Pats have now won two of their last three games against the Blades in the second-half.
The final shots were 44-22 for Saskatoon. Brandon Lisowsky scored twice in the loss. The Blades went 1-4 on the power play and 1-1 on the penalty kill.
The Blades are 10-2 over their last 12 games since February 25 and are 14-2-1 over their last 17 games since February 11. The Pats and Blades have not played each other in the playoffs since 2006.

The Pats are 16-9-2 over their last 27 GP since Jan. 8, which is when Connor Bedard returned from the World Juniors, defeating Calgary 2x (6-2 & 6-5), Saskatoon 2x (7-4 & 4-2), Portland (4-3), Swift Current (5-2), Lethbridge 2x (3-2 & 4-2), Moose Jaw 2x (8-4 & 7-3), Medicine Hat (6-3), Brandon 3x (4-3, 6-3, 6-3), Winnipeg (5-3) & Red Deer (6-5)...during that time, they have outscored their opp. 121-to-113.
The Regina Pats have clinched a playoff berth for the first time since the 2017-18 season...the Pats have now made the playoffs 15 times since the 1999-2000 season...the last time they were in the playoffs was 2017-18 where they lost in the Eastern Conference quarter-final.
