
Patriots Win Back and Forth Battle Over Revolution

Bridgewater, NJ - The Somerset Patriots defeated the York Revolution 7-6 at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday evening.
The Patriots broke a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the eighth inning. Right fielder Noah Hall walked and pinch hitter Michael Hernandez plated Hall with an RBI single to center field. Shortstop Iggy Suarez followed with an RBI single to give the Patriots a 7-5 lead.
York jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Right fielder Erold Andrus doubled, catcher John Pachot singled, and shortstop Chuck Jeroloman singled to bring home Andrus. Center fielder Scott Grimes then singled to score Pachot, second baseman Liu Rodriguez singled to plate Jeroloman, and third baseman Steve Haake reached on an error that scored Rodriguez for the final run of the rally.
Somerset got on the board in the bottom of the second inning on a double by Hall and a triple by Suarez to cut the lead to 4-1.
The Patriots scored in the bottom of the third inning after first baseman Joe Burke singled and designated hitter Josh Pressley (22) followed with a two run homerun to center field to make the score 4-3.
Somerset evened the score 4-4 in the bottom of the fifth inning after Burke (10) blasted a solo homerun to right field.
The Revolution regained the lead in the top of the sixth inning after first baseman Ian Bladergroen singled, Andrus singled, and Pachot singled to load the bases. Jeroloman followed with a sacrifice fly to left field to score Bladergroen and give York a 5-4 advantage.
The Patriots answered in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game on a solo home run by Hall (9) to make the score 5-5.
York made it a one run game with a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning on a solo home run by Rodriguez (4).
Patriots reliever Ben Grezlovski (7-3) picked up the win with a scoreless 0.2 innings pitched. York reliever Eric Ackerman (5-2) suffered the loss, allowing a run in 1.2 innings pitched. Scott Williamson earned his 10th save of the season for Somerset.
The Somerset Patriots 2010 Season presented by Ford will continue on the road until Monday, September 13th when the Patriots return to TD Bank Ballpark for a 6:35 pm game against the Long Island Ducks. The game includes Bark In The Park Night.
