
Patriots Take Second Straight over the Curve

Altoona, Pennsylvania - The Somerset Patriots (19-10) defeated the Altoona Curve (13-17) by a score of 7-2 at Peoples Natural Gas Field on Thursday evening.
Somerset broke the scoreless tie in the fourth on an infield single by Blake Perkins.
Altoona quickly took the lead in the bottom half of the inning on an RBI triple by Matt Fraizer and a Brendt Cita sacrifice fly.
In the sixth, Michael Beltre's two-run double scored Brandon Lockridge and Derek Dietrich for the lead. Jesus Bastidas followed with another two-run double to plate Perkins and
Beltre. Somerset plated one more on an error for a 6-2 advantage.
Dietrich (6) then extended the lead with a home run to deep center field for a 7-2 lead in the seventh, which would be the final.
Sean Boyle (1-1) struck out nine over six innings and allowed two runs on four hits for the win. Omar Cruz (2-3) took the loss after he allowed four runs on six hits in five innings.
