Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots (27-19) defeated the New Britain Bees (21-26) 2-1 before 6,617 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Sunday afternoon.

Down a run, and without any hits into the bottom of the seventh inning, the Patriots rallied for two runs to take the lead on a Mike Fransoso single.

"I was just trying to put a good at bat together. I had a couple rough at bats to begin the game," said Fransoso. "I was just trying to put it in play and get the guy behind me up to the plate. It just worked out that I got a 3-2 count and the runners were moving. It was a tough at bat and we all had a couple of those today."

The Bees broke the scoreless tie in the top of the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly by Reid Brignac.

Nate Roe (3-0) picked up the win, allowing a run on two hits and two strikeouts in an inning pitched. Patriots starter Rick Teasley went six scoreless innings, scattering three hits and striking out six batters in a no decision. Dustin Antolin earned his third save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning.

Mark Hamburger (4-4) suffered the loss, carrying a no hitter into the seventh inning before Danny Dorn broke it up with a single to the right side. Hamburger allowed two runs on three hits and six strikeouts in seven innings.

The 2018 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue on the road until Friday, June 22nd when the Patriots return to TD Bank Ballpark for a 7:05 pm game against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.
