Bridgewater, NJ - The Somerset Patriots (37-25) defeated the Long Island Ducks (38-24) 3-2 at TD Bank Ballpark on Sunday afternoon.

The Ducks took an early lead on a Lew Ford RBI double in the top of the first inning.

Somerset tied up the game in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI base hit by Justin Pacchioli.

The Patriots then claimed the lead on a sacrifice fly by Alfredo Rodriguez in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Hector Sanchez knotted up the game at 2-2 on an RBI single in the sixth inning.

Will Kengor wasted no time taking back the lead on a solo home run (5) in the bottom of the frame.

"I was just trying to see the ball. I let it get deep in there," said Kengor, who also finished the game 2-for-3 with two runs scored. "I just got a pitch to hit, I think it was kind of a mistake, and I put a good barrel on it."

James Pugliese (2-0) picked up the win, allowing a run in an inning pitched. Travis Banwart (3-1) took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits in six innings pitched. Jonathan Cheshire pitched two scoreless innings with three strikeouts to earn his first save of the season.

The 2019 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue on the road until Friday, July 12th when the team returns to TD Bank Ballpark for a 7:05 pm game against the New Britain Bees. The game features the Biggest Fireworks Show of the season as the Patriots Celebrate America presented by ToyotaWorld of Clinton.
