Ashton to Jr. Summer Camp
Carter Ashton has received the prestigious invite to Canada's World Junior Team summer evaluation camp. Ashton is one of 41 skaters that will take part at the camp in St. John's Newfoundland in early August. This is not the first time that Ashton will get a chance to play for Canada, he has put on the red and white at both the World U-18 tournament and at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge. This year's World Junior Hockey Championships are in Buffalo, New York.
Bell Gets Crack at U-18's
After a solid rookie season with the blue and white, Myles Bell has received an invite to Canada's World U-18 selection camp. Bell, and 41 other hopefuls will head to Calgary on July 31st to strut their stuff in front of the Hockey Canada staff for a chance to play for Canada at 2010 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka tournament, scheduled for August 10-14 in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
Wick Golf Tourny
The 13th annual Wickenheiser Golf Classic is set to go on Monday August 16th at the Wascana Golf and Country Club. There are still a few spots left, and we have made it easy for everyone. $300.00 gets a golfer: their round, supper, a Taylor Made Pats golf bag as well as all of their mulligan's/drink tickets/food tickets. Big Swede:
At the 2010 CHL Import Draft, the Regina Pats traded up with the Lethbridge Hurricanes, receiving their first round pick (46th overall) in exchange for a 6th round Bantam Draft pick in 2012. With the 46th overall pick, the Pats selected Swedish defenceman Ricard Blidstrand. He was a 7th round pick of the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Season Tickets:
To get your season tickets for the 2010-11 Regina Pats season, there's still plenty of time to pick them up. A full season starts at $199 and it's as easy as calling the front office at 522-PATS or drop by the office located in the west entrance of the Brandt Centre.
NHL Camps:
It has already been a busy summer for many of the Pat players at NHL Summer Camps. Jordan Weal (3rd '10 LA) was in California for L.A. Kings prospect camp, Brandon Davidson (7th '10 EDM) was in Edmonton for their prospect camp and Garret Mitchell (6th '09 WSH) was recently in Maryland for Washington Capitals camp.
Off to School
A trio Pats have made commitments to CIS schools. Matt Strueby and Brett Leffler have sign letters of commitment to the University of Regina for the upcoming season. While former Pats, Mitch Czibere has signed a letter of intent with the University of Alberta.
Training Camp:
Regina Pats training camp 2010 is set to go on the last week of August at the Co-Operators Centre in Regina. The first preseason games are on the weekend of September 3rd and 4th with the Pats hosting the Moose Jaw Warriors on the Friday night at the Co-Operators Centre with the return engagement 24 hours later at the Crushed Can in Moose Jaw.
Summer Camps:
The Provincial Summer Camps are all finished up across Western Canada, with all of the players strutting their stuff to play their province at respective Western Canadian Tournaments. The Pats are well represented across Western Canada, with all their 1995 Bantam Draft picks getting invited:

In the Community
With the off season here, the Pats don't quit their community involvement. Players and coaches have taken part in many community events with the Ruth M Buck PlayScapes program and the Queen City Ex Parade coming up this weekend.
