
Pat Ahearne Named Detroit Minor League Pitcher of the Month

DETROIT â The Detroit Tigers today named Triple-A Toledo right-handed pitcher Pat Ahearne the organization's minor league pitcher of the month for April.
The 34-year-old Ahearne compiled a 2-0 record and 2.80 ERA (35.1IP/11ER) in five starts during April for the Mud Hens. He fanned 26 batters, while issuing five walks and limiting the opposition to a .208 batting average (27x130). Ahearne worked six-or-more innings in four of his starts during the month, while he limited opponents to three runs or less in four starts.
Ahearne will be on the hill tonight for Toledo. The Hens will begin an eight-game homestand on Tuesday versus the Norfolk Tides. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
