Parsons and Landmesser named Northern Conference All-Star starters

PHOENIX--The Central Hockey League announced the starting lineups for the All-Star Game today (Wednesday) and Memphis RiverKings veterans Don Parsons and Derek Landmesser were among the 6 voted to start for the Northern Conference. The 2005 game will be played in Laredo, Texas on January 12.

The starting line-ups were selected through balloting which concluded yesterday (Tuesday) among CHL coaches, public relations/broadcasting staff and selected media members in each CHL market. Joining Parsons and Landmesser as Northern Conference starters will be forwards Chad Woolard from Fort Worth and Colorado's Greg Pankewicz, Wichita Thunder defenseman Paul Esdale and goalie Tyler Weiman from Colorado.

The Southern Conference Team will start forwards Derek Hahn from Amarillo, Corpus Christis Jason Baird and Laredos Brent Cullaton along with defensemen Bernie John from Corpus Christi and Lubbock's Derick Martin. Starting in the nets for the South will be San Angelo's Scott Reid.

Parsons, making his fifth straight All-Star appearance, is tied for third in CHL scoring (34 points) and trails only Woollard with 20 goals. He is also the CHLs all-time All-Star points leader, with six goals and six assists in his four previous games. Landmesser, who leads C.H.L. defensemen with 24 points, will be making his fourth appearance in the mid-season classic.

The remaining members of each conference All-Star roster will be announced on Wednesday, December 29th, as selected by All-Star Coaches Chris Stewart (Colorado, Northern Conference) and Chris Dashney (Lubbock, Southern Conference) in conjunction with the CHLs hockey operations department. Each team will have a minimum of one representative appear on the All-Star rosters.
