Ottawa 67's News Release

OTTAWA - The Ottawa 67's today announced that a limited number of underground parking spaces will be available at Lansdowne for fans who attend home games at TD Place.

Fans can reserve parking spaces at the same time they purchase tickets, which are now on sale for all 67's regular-season games. The parking spaces are currently utilized during football and soccer games at TD Place by stadium club seat and suite holders. The stadium club level will not be open during events in the arena at TD Place, which frees parking spaces for fans on a first-come, first-served basis.

"For the last several months, we've been telling REDBLACKS fans not to drive to Lansdowne for games because there was no available on-site parking, but the situation is completely different for 67's fans," said Jeff Hunt, President of the 67's parent company, OSEG Sports. "We encourage fans to reserve a parking space at the same time they reserve their seats because space in the garage is limited and demand for parking will increase as the restaurants, retail stores and the movie theatre open throughout the regular season."

The 67's also encourage fans to take public transit to TD Place. A ticket to a 67's game will also be a ticket to ride for free on any OC Transpo bus route.

"With the available parking spaces and free OC Transpo service, we're confident fans will be able to rapidly get to and from 67's games," said Hunt. "And with the extra amenities coming online at Lansdowne in the coming months, it'll be a great incentive to come early and stay late. Our games are primarily on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons, so that creates all kinds of possibilities for young families to make a day of it and everyone to make a night of it at Lansdowne."

The 67's home opener on Friday, October 10 against the Niagara IcwDogs will be the first event in the newly-renovated TD Place arena, which features a massive new HD video board, digital displays, modernized food and beverage concessions and a new menu created by Levy Restaurants.

The arena will also have a more intimate atmosphere. The team has curtained a portion of the upper bowl to concentrate fans in lower sections. In addition, the former suite level of the arena has been closed, making the new capacity for hockey 6,201.

On the ice, the 67's, under the direction of new head coach Jeff Brown, earned a perfect 3-0 exhibition season in preparation for the team's homecoming. To celebrate the return to Lansdowne, the 67's have commissioned a one-of-a-kind commemorative coin which will be presented to the first 5,000 fans on opening night.

Individual game tickets, including the home opener, and parking can be ordered by linking from the 67's website or calling 613-599-FANS (3267).
