Paredes and Halman Named 2007 NWL All-Stars

Everett - Bob Richmond, President of the Northwest League of Professional Baseball, released end of the year honors today, August 28th, 2007, including the 2007 All-Star team for which two AquaSox were chosen. Left-handed pitcher Edward Paredes (7-5, 3.64 ERA) and outfielder Gregory Halman (.289 BA, 33 RBI, 14 HR) join a list of other stellar players from throughout the league. The honors, by position, are as follows:

1B - Danny Hamblin, Vancouver Canadians (Oakland Athletics)

2B - Matt Downs, Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (San Francisco Giants)

3B - Clayton Conner, Yakima Bears (Arizona Diamondbacks)

SS - Mark Hallberg, Yakima Bears (Arizona Diamondbacks)

DH - Garrett Baker, Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (San Francisco Giants)

C - Jonathan Greene, Spokane Indians (Texas Rangers)

OF - Gregory Halman, Everett AquaSox (Seattle Mariners)

OF - Luis Durango, Eugene Emeralds (San Diego Padres)

OF - Jonathan Wyatt, Boise Hawks (Chicago Cubs)

LHP - Edward Paredes, Everett AquaSox (Seattle Mariners)

RHP - Thomas Brewer, Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (San Francisco Giants)

LH Relief - Ryan Falcon, Spokane Indians (Texas Rangers)

RH Relief - Danny Otero, Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (San Francisco Giants)

In addition to naming the All-Star team, Richmond gave a dual Manager of the Year honor to Steve Decker of the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (San Francisco Giants) and Greg Riddoch of the Eugene Emeralds (San Diego Padres).

Most-Valuable Player title was a tie between Matt Downs (.355 BA, 48 RBI, 8 HR) of the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes and Luis Durango (.368 BA, 31 RBI, 2 HR) of the Eugene Emeralds.
