Bay Area Panthers News Release

Defensive lineman Josh Greenwood has signed to play his first year of professional football with the Bay Area Panthers.

Greenwood is listed at 6-2, 285 pounds from SUNY Brockport. Last season, he was first on the team in tackles-for-loss with 17, including 6.5 sacks for a Golden Eagles squad that went 8-3 and allowed 12 points per game. He worked his way into the starting lineup the second game of his sophomore year.

"My strengths are run stopping and pass rushing," said Greenwood, covering all the bases. "Pass rush was a struggle getting triple teamed a lot."

The Bay Area will be the first visit to California for the future real estate investor, who has not traveled west of Texas.

"Greenwood is a very physical defensive end," said Head Coach Darren Arbet. "He's moves like a guy much smaller-big hands and great moves as a defensive lineman."
