Bay Area Panthers News Release

The Panthers are bringing in championship pedigree with the signing of defensive back Tyrone Cromwell, who won a title in '22 playing for the Northern Arizona Wranglers one season after winning only one game.

"You can't put a price on it," said Head Coach Darren Arbet. "It's huge to have guys who are winners. He understands Coach Keefe's system and that's a huge plus."

Cromwell was part of a culture change in Prescott and can see what's a possible in a short period of time.

"That's my goal--to come and turn an organization around in one year and win it all," said Cromwell. "I'm really looking forward to it and know it's possible."

Cromwell was slowed by a hamstring injury last season, limiting him to six games, but was healthy down the stretch for the title run.

Bay Area will be the third IFL stop for Cromwell with the common thread of playing for Rob Keefe, the Panthers Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator. Cromwell played for Keefe in Iowa and followed him last season to Northern Arizona.

"The extra work he puts in wears off on his players," said Cromwell of Keefe. "I respect the way he coaches and way he respects us as men."

Cromwell finished his college career at Florida Tech before turning pro and is eager to bring his experience to do his part to help transform the franchise.

"If anybody needs extra work or help, I'll be there," said Cromwell.
