FRISCO, Texas- The Frisco Fighters and head coach Billy Back announced today that the team has signed defensive lineman Kevin Thompson for the 2023 season.

The 6-foot-3, 250-pound native of Baltimore, Maryland native played four years at Bethune-Cookman University from 2015-18 where he totaled 113 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks. Thompson was one of four Bethune-Cookman athletes chosen to play in the Fifth Annual FCS National Bowl Game.

Thompson played the 2020 season with the Jacksonville Sharks of the NAL. In the season prior, he made his IFL debut with the Sioux Falls Storm, joining the team mid-season. He appeared in six games for the Storm where he helped the club to a berth in the 2019 playoffs, leading to a United Bowl Championship.

"KT is a proven indoor player who has the length and power to be a real problem," said Back. "He's won a championship in the IFL game, and we intend for his mindset to carry over to the other players in 2023."

The Frisco Fighters return to the field in March 2023. Squadron Memberships are on sale now and single-game tickets will be available at a later date.
