Panthers Return Markstrom to Rampage

SAN ANTONIO (April 26, 2012) - Florida Panthers Executive Vice President & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that goaltender Jacob Markstrom has been reassigned to the San Antonio Rampage (AHL).

Markstrom, 22, served as the backup netminder to Scott Clemmensen in Game 6 of Florida's Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series against the New Jersey Devils. The Gavle, Sweden native has posted a 2-0 record with a 3.13 goals against average and a .908 save percentage in two playoff games for the Rampage in their Western Conference Quarterfinal series against the Chicago Wolves. Markstrom, the 31st overall pick of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, went 17-12-1 with a 2.32 goals against average and a .927 save percentage in 32 regular season games with San Antonio in 2011-12. He also posted a 2-4-1 mark with a 2.66 goals against average and a .923 save percentage in seven contests with Florida this year.

The Rampage will play the Wolves in the decisive Game 5 of their series tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. (CST) at Allstate Arena.
