
Abney & Roy Assigned To Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City - The Edmonton Oilers assigned forward Cameron Abney and goaltender Olivier Roy to the Oklahoma City Barons, Barons General Manager Bill Scott announced today. In a separate transaction, defenseman Ryan Lowery was recalled by the Barons.
Abney, a 6-5, 205-pounder from Aldergrove, B.C., split time this season between Oklahoma City and Stockton. With Oklahoma City, he appeared in 14 games and served 24 penalty minutes. The Oilers 3rd round choice (82nd overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, played 29 games with Stockton, registering five points (2-3-5) and 132 penalty minutes.
Roy, a 6-0, 180-pounder from Amqui, Quebec played the majority of the season with Stockton, where he posted a 16-18-5 record, 2.49 goals against average, .925 save percentage and four shutouts. The Oilers 5th round pick (133rd overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft appeared in all eight games for the Thunder in the Kelly Cup playoff run, posting a 4-4 record, 2.46 goals against average and .919 save percentage.
Lowery, a 5-11, 189-pounder from Inverness, Ill. also split time this season between Oklahoma City and Stockton. With the Barons, he played in 26 games and scored seven points (1-6-7). With Stockton, he has played in 22 games, scoring seven points (1-6-7). During Stockton's run in the ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs, Lowery appeared in six games and registered an assist.
The Barons open their Western Conference semifinal series on Thursday, May 3 at 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center. The Barons will play either the San Antonio Rampage or Abbotsford Heat in the next series. The schedule for the next round will be released Friday evening. All Barons playoff games can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY.
