SAN JOSE--Felix Harper scored on a 4-yard run with 13 seconds left in the fourth quarter and the Panthers held on for a 53-50 win over the San Diego Strike Force to remain undefeated.
Nate Davis connected with Elijah Lilly on a 7-yard scoring pass with 4:51 to give San Diego its first lead at 50-47 to overcome a 15-point deficit.
The Panthers (4-0) scored two defensive touchdowns in the first quarter: Antwon Kincade recovered a fumble in the end zone on San Diego's first play from scrimmage and Joe Foucha returned a Rudy Johnson pass 10 yards for a score. The scores offset a pair of Harper interceptions on the first two series.
Harper ended 9-15 for 96 yards and a 6-yard TD pass to Jazeric Peterson in the third.
In his IFL debut, Statford Anderson had 20 carries for 71 yards and his first two pro touchdowns.
For San Diego (3-1), Davis came off the bench to complete 14 of 17 passes for 141 yards and four scores--three to former Panthers' receiver Arthur Jackson III.
The teams will play again next Sunday in San Diego in the second of four meetings between the teams.
