Pair of Mustangs Make MASL Team of the Week

Hoffman Estates, IL- The Chicago Mustangs, proud members of the Major Arena Soccer League (www.MASLSoccer.com), are happy to announce the naming of 2 players to the MASL Team of the Week's Top Playoff Performers list for the opening week of the MASL Playoffs.
Forward Hewerton Moreira and Goalie Jesus Flores were named Top Playoff Performers by the MASL for their stellar performances in a 6-3 win over the Milwaukee Wave last Thursday night. The always dangerous Hewerton set the tempo for a high-energy offensive night with 2 early, impressive long strikes that the Wave's goalie didn't even flinch on as well as an assist on a "Wilo" Martinez breakaway goal that halted Milwaukee's momentum for the rest of the night.
Flores, ready for one of his biggest challenges of the year, was tested early and often and had one of his best nights of the year in net for the Mustangs. The veteran goalkeeper had 18 saves, many of which were highlight reel saves, and kept his team in the game as they struggled to find their rhythm in the first quarter. Once the second quarter hit, the offense hit their stride and Flores sat stoically in net for the rest of the contest only allowing 3 Milwaukee goals and giving his team a chance to win all night. Despite Milwaukee scoring first and setting themselves up with tons of momentum throughout the game, Flores remained calm and truly looked like a star between the pipes.
