Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release
WINNIPEG, MB - A pair of Blue Bomber greats are approaching two major league milestones as the Winnipeg Football Club heads into the final 10 games of the 2008 season.
Milt Stegall and Charles Roberts are closing in on two significant records (see attached document).
Stegall, a 14-year veteran, is 112 yards shy of the all-time receiving yardage record in the CFL currently held by Allen Pitts (14,892). Pitts set the mark in 176 career games. Stegall, meanwhile, has played 172 contests in his illustrious career.
Roberts, meanwhile, is currently 63 yards away from the exclusive 10,000-yard rushing club. Only four players - Mike Pringle, George Reed, Damon Allen, and Johnny Bright - have gained more yards on the ground then the Blue Bombers running back.
Roberts is presently the fifth leading rusher in CFL history.
