Tucson Padres News Release

Rob Musgrave grabbed his second win in as many starts for the Tucson Padres Tuesday, pitching six shutout innings in the Padres 2-0 win. Musgrave pitched five innings and allowed just one run Thursday in the second game of the Padres doubleheader that day. The Padres bullpen was also exceptional Tuesday, with Will Inman, Pat Neshek and Luis Perdomo pitching a scoreless inning each in Tacoma. The Padres now have six shutouts this season.

Luis Martinez walked to lead off the Padres' third and Kyle Phillips hit a two-run home run the following at bat. It was the second Triple-A home run of the season for Phillips and it provided the only two runs of the game. James Darnell was 2-for-4 for the Padres and was the only Tucson player with a multi-hit game.

The Padres have now won five of their last six games and have a 62-75 record.
