Sacramento River Cats News Release
WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Josh Donaldson hit the go-ahead home run as Sacramento topped Las Vegas, 4-3, on Wednesday afternoon at Raley Field. Donaldson's solo blast to left-center field in the sixth inning was his 17th of the season and gave the South Division champion River Cats a 4-3 lead. Sacramento has won six games in a row and 14 of their last 17. River Cats right fielder Jai Miller tied the game, 1-1, in the second inning with his 31st home run of the season, tying him with Chris Carter for the second-most single-season home runs in team history. Carter hit 31 homers last season. In 2003, Graham Koonce set the franchise record of 34 homers in season. Jermaine Mitchell extended his hitting streak to 17 games with an RBI double in the second inning that gave the River Cats a 2-1 lead. The 17-game streak matches Anthony Recker for the team's longest hitting streak of the season. Daric Barton's 24-game hitting streak in 2007 is the longest in team history. The River Cats conclude their home regular season schedule Thursday night.
