
Pacifics Rally to Beat Hawaii Stars, Extend First-Place Lead to Two Games

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (July 18, 2012) - Brian Gump was masterful, stricking out 10 Hawaii Stars and earning the win as the San Rafael Pacifics won 7-2 on Wednesday night at Albert Park.
Gump (4-1) allowed one earned run, scattered eight hits and walked a pair in 6 2/3 innings, helping San Rafael take a two-game lead atop the North American League's North Division.
Pacifics right fielder Maikel Jova went 1 for 4 extending his hitting streak to a league-best 31 consecutive games.
Centerfielder Zack Pace reached base two times for San Rafael (20-12), scoring two runs and added an RBI with a fifth-inning double.
Dallas Mahan (0-5) struck out five the Pacifics batters and allowed three runs while taking the loss.
San Rafael and Hawaii play again Thursday night at 7:15 p.m. Mini Bats presented by MINI of Marin will be given out to the first 500 fans in attendance. Tickets are available at Pacificsbaseball.com .
