BRAMPTON, ONTARIO - Brampton and Toledo combined for an astounding 14 goals but the Beast fell by a score of 8-6 on Sunday afternoon.

The Brampton Beast hosted the visiting Toledo Walleye on a very special Military Appreciation Day game. Toledo struck first off the stick of Charlie O'Connor. That gave the Walleye a 1-0 lead at 3:18 of the first period. Toledo didn't quit there and took a 2-0 lead at 6:00 of the first.

Bryan Moore was able to stuff home the rebound off the shot from Greg Wolfe. The Beast needed a response and found one in the form of leading scorer David Pacan.

The big forward took advantage of Walleye netminder Pat Nagle misplaying the puck. He stole it off his stick and stuffed it into the empty net at 12:53. For Brampton, it was the third short-handed goal of the season.

Toledo fought back and regained their two-goal lead on the power play courtesy of Shane Berschbach. He finished off a pretty passing play and sent a shot past Beast starter Jake Paterson at 15:43.

Brampton would head to the first intermission down by a score of 3-1 and trailing in shots by a count of 12-10. Toledo came out of the intermission and immediately went back on the attack.

They were rewarded with a power play goal from Daniel Leavens at 2:30. That made it 4-1 game. Brampton continued to press and was rewarded with a back door goal from Jordan Henry.

The Beast defenseman jumped in the rush and was rewarded with his fourth of the season at 2:58. Toledo got some more insurance in the form of a goal by Charlie O'Connor at 10:15 of the second. The point shot squeaked through the pads of Paterson to give Toledo a 5-2 lead.

The back and forth period continued with Brampton's Erik Bradford ripping a goal to give the Beast a bit of life late on the second. The Orangeville natives tally was his third of the season.

The period would end with Toledo up 5-3 and ahead in the shots department to the tune of 24-23. The third period would start with a Beast goal courtesy of David Vallorani.

That made it a 5-4 game at 3:13. Just as fast Toledo responded with a goal of their own from TJ Hensick at 4:07.

The Beast and Walleye fought tooth and nail right to the finish, with the Walleye taking the game by a final score of 8-6.
