Potomac Nationals News Release
Woodbridge, VA- The Potomac Nationals are excited to celebrate Cool Runnings 25th Anniversary Night on Friday, July 6th, as the P-Nats host the Salem Red Sox (Boston Red Sox).
As Famous Fridays continue at Northwest Federal Field at Pfitzner Stadium, the P-Nats will pay tribute to the popular sports comedy film, Cool Runnings, the story of the 1988 Olympic Jamaican Bobsled team.
During the first three innings of Friday's game, fans can head to the Kids Zone to participate in an inflatable slide contest to see who can slide down the fastest.
Free tickets will be given out to anyone who brings a bobsled to the game, while $5 grandstand tickets will available to anyone who wears Jamaican colors to the ballpark. Inside the stadium, fans can take a picture with a bobsled that will be set up in honor of the famous film.
During the game, The P-Nats will wear Cool Runnings 25th Anniversary Night Theme Jerseys, presented by Northwest Federal Credit Union. These jerseys will be auctioned off throughout the game, with the proceeds to benefit Volunteer Prince William. The autographed jerseys will be auctioned off via silent auction from when gates open until the last out of the sixth inning. The auction winners will have a chance to take a postgame photo with the player or coach who wore the jersey during the game.
Friday, July 6th is also Virginia Tech Hokies Pride Night at Northwest Federal Field at Pfitzner Stadium. To celebrate the Hokies, any fans who wear Virginia Tech gear to the game can purchase a $5 discounted grandstand ticket.
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam will be in attendance at Friday night's game against the Red Sox game. The Governor of Virginia will visit Northwest Federal Field at Pfitzner Stadium and throw out a first pitch prior to the game.
After the game is over, kids in attendance can showcase their speed around the diamond in Kids Run the Bases, presented by Glory Days Grill.
Friday night is another opportunity for fans to take advantage of the P-Nats' 4x4 Friday Family Packs! For just $44, fans will receive four reserved section tickets, four regular hot dogs, four 22oz sodas, and four adjustable Potomac Nationals hats. This package is valued at $112, a 60% savings from the regular price!
